The Great Wall Youth Orchestra performance on May 7th at CA State Railroad Museum was very successful, performers visited old Sacramento and museum, and performed at 1pm and 3pm. The documentary film “Going Home” produced by Min Zhou was showed after the performance.
UCRFA participated the July 4th parade at Dutch Flat, a group Chinese American Pioneer Heritage Committee members joined the parade as well. The dragon dance and fan dance were very attractive.
UCRFA is working on the following projects:
- Be a bridge to connect Jiangmen and Placer County a Sister County, the Chinese railroad workers’ hometown and the place that Chinese railroad workers ever worked will better tell Chinese railroad workers’ story.
- Working with CA State Railroad Museum, CA State Railroad Museum Foundation, CA State Historic Park at Old Sacramento, Downtown Sacramento Partnership to move the Chinese Railroad Worker Sculpture to the CA State Historic Park at Old Sacramento.
2022 Return to Golden Mountain project will be run by 1882 Foundation and Summit Tunnel Conservation Association, UCRFA will be a support organization, the trip flyer is attached.
