National Railroad Hall of Fame, CSRM and CSRMF co-hosted the National Railroad Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on September 5 at the California State Railroad Museum. They honored President Abraham Lincoln and the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroad workers at the event in commemoration of the Transcontinental Railroad anniversary. One medallion was presented to Alan Lowe, Director of Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, one medallion was presented to Francisco Castillo, Senior Director of Public Affairs of Union Pacific Railroad. Few UCRFA officers, few Chinese railroad worker descendants and Professor Hilton Obenzinger, Associate Director of Chinese Railroad Workers in North America Project, Stanford University joined together received the third medallion on behalf of Central Pacific labors. Professor Hilton Obenzinger introduced the research project, descendant Moon Chan, professor of UC Davis gave remarks on behalf of Chinese railroad worker descendants. “The story of the Transcontinental Railroad is the story of America”
